We in the New Order of Highsec often get asked about The Code, by an assortment of carebears and their supporters.
Wouldn't it be great if they could hear the Saviour's very own considered opinions on his Magnum Opus? Of course it would!
I've recorded his blog-post 'Thoughts About The Code', and uploaded it to my SoundCloud platform. Please do join my wife Phyllis and I for tea, buttered scones and a bit of exegetical exercise...

Hi Saeger1737,
It's 23 times, I think; something like that.
It's a Mantra, you see. With correct attitude and attention, repetition of the words 'The Code' can lead to higher, altered states. Audition of the Mantra imparts a feeling of well-being and fosters a hunger for Compliance.
It's amazing, isn't it?!
Well done for drawing that to our attention!

Tarojan wrote:I miss reading the original james 315. His articles for example on mitanni.com were really interesting even when you disagreed with them. Remember when Scooter Macabe wrote one attacking him and james 315 replied with another that absolutely destroyed scoot? lol
ye I miss reading that guy.
Me too, Tarojan.
I mailed TMC repeatedly to ask their permission to record James 315's articles published on the site, but received no response whatever.
Maybe I'll give it another shot.
Thanks for reminding me.

Morgan Agrivar wrote:I have been thinking of creating an alt to do CODE stuff in but the next two or three months are going to be brutal for me work wise. I might start training her up and then get in contact with CODE at a later date. I did enjoy ganking freighters, but living as -10 in highsec is something I never have done and would need instruction on how to do so.
That's the spirit!
Fire up an alt and get training. It won't take long, what with the generous starting skill-set. Then, just dive in.
The training scheme for gankers has been revised; there's a step-by-step guide here
May your 2 months of brutal work pass quickly, hastening your recruitment to our ranks!

Nofear Alt wrote: Not a supporter of CODE but that is brilliantly recorded and how I imagine James 315 to actually speak! Pretty awesome (except the CODE bit! ;-)
Thanks Nofear, much appreciated.
James 315 is American, so some parts of the texts present difficulties for me. To this day, there's no way I can say the word 'guy' as an American would say it (naturally, casually) using that voice; I usually (and with his permission) render it as 'chap'.
Hope you enjoyed the tea and buttered scones...

I can't speak for Scooter's writing activities, but he's listed on EVE Who as currently a member of SUNDERING Corp (GSF).

Made me smile. But your imagination is no substitute for objective reality, Jong.
James 315 has created a movement which crosses all sorts of boundaries, and whose members are drawn from clearly disparate groups, social and otherwise. The folks in the images you selected do, however, display a certain unity of purpose. For that, we have our beloved Code to thank.
Just to clear up a common misconception:
The Code - A set of guidelines for the governance of Highsec
CODE. - An Alliance of Corporations dedicated to enforcing The Code
The New Order of Highsec - An organisation embracing CODE. and everyone else in EVE who supports the goals set out in The Code |
